Think while reading, pick up new information, and come up with new ideas and new thinking. We had to record a video with someone having a persuasive conversation. Me and Emily did it together but the day I recorded she was sick, so this is my video!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. This week for writing we had to finish off our speech's. I am going to share with you my speech. My speech is on zero hunger. We had to put it on Que cards then we had to read it to 12-20 people, I am going to share with you my favourite sentence:

Here is a quote by Dr. Norman Ernest Borlaug: “You can't build a peaceful world on empty stomachs and human misery”. We may not be able to stop hunger everywhere but we have the power of our voice. This is our world and we choose our future. Together we can stop world hunger.

Maths W4- Caterpillars and Swan plants

For Maths this week the task was to make a ratio between caterpillars and swan plants, I was maths buddy's with Zoe. We did some problems and did/made the ratios. This was Learn, Create, Share.

First We worked through the Ratio problems and ratio practise on the learning half. Then we did the create task on the ratio problems. They were:

For Question Number 1 we did:

We started with the How many caterpillars could you feed if you chose 9 small plants, We                  know that 3 small plants would feed 4 caterpillars so we did 3x3=9  Then 4x3=12
So the ratio is 3:4 Plants to caterpillars. I wont do anymore questions, But you should give                them a go!

Do you know how to do ratios?

Have a growth mindset!! Maths T3 W5

Hello and welcome back, Today I will be showing you my Maths task for this week, My goal was to use multiplication and division strategies to compare fraction sets with whole numbers. Our task was to get with our maths mate for this week. Mine was Lincoln. We didn't work well together because we weren't working together and sitting with each other, Which im going to do better next time. It ended up being very bad because I ended up finishing 3 questions and he did none. We then needed to do a couple of strategies about fractions and whole numbers and how to do then. My work is in my book so I will show you my growth mindset poster (I did it by myself)

Here it is!!!!

Do you do fractions?

Do you have a growth mindset?

Persuasive Writing (Zero Hunger) T3 W3

In this blog I will be talking about my writing for this week.

This week for writing we were practising for our speech by writing down facts about the topic we choose.  We had 4 options, they were.....

  1. No Poverty
  2. Zero Hunger
  3. Good health and well-being
  4. Quality education

I choose zero hunger because I think that this is a very serious topic, Millions of people die because they dont have enough food or because They cant afford it. I think this problem needs to be fixed fast. Poor nutrition causes nearly half of deaths in children under five years old. Poverty is a cause of hunger, We also needed a rhetorical question. Mine was....

How would you feel if you went hungry?

What goal would or did you write about?

1. No Poverty

2. Zero Hunger

3. Good health and well-being

4. Quality Education

I chose Zero Hunger, I had to include hard hitting words, Which we call superlatives. Here is an example of superlative words: Biggest, Bravest, Cleanest, Coldest and Angriest. Superlative words are usually used in Persuasive speech's. Here is my Work:

What topic do you think will be fixed first?

Cantamath!!!

Hello, For this weeks blog I'll be talking to about Maths for this week. Instead of doing workshops we did, Cantamath. Cantamath is a race to answer hard maths questions. You have a team and you have one runner. Everyone is in a team and we all have to sit in a circle. We all start off with one first question. After figuring out the question your runner in your team has to run around everyone to the ground to were the teachers are. The teachers hold the questions and have to answers to the questions. If you get it wrong you have to run back to where your team is sitting and try to figure it out again. If you get it right you get given another question and run back to figure it out. There is also a competition, the competition is optional to enter of not. This is way different than the race. There are different categories that you can enter in. You have to make something that involves in the categories. Then after you make it you send it off to a competition. At the competition there will judges that will judge our creations and pick a 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place. Thanks for listening.

Have you ever done cantamath?

If so have you been in the competition?

Predictions

Are video games good or bad?

For Writing this week We had to Chose 1 out of 3 Categories and be persuasive, I chose Video games, This is what I wrote:

I think video games are good because some games might improve kids hand eye coordination and problem solving skills. Video games that require kids to actually move or manipulate the game through their own physical movement can even get sedentary kids moving.

But not as much as if they actually played outside or participated in sports.  Some kids have trouble fitting in and making friends in real life.  Video games can be a good way for them to find people to connect with in a positive way.

If you play a Video game that you can talk to people on then you have a good chance to find a new friend. Video games are also proved to Improve your Memory, Mood, Social Skills, Spatial visualisation, Physical fitness, Perception and vision, Youthfulness, Decision making, Problem solving skills, Curiosity and Learning.

Do you think Video games are Good or Bad?
