The haunted house part 3

“Mom! Dad!” screamed Zoe, But no one was there. . . the door was open but no one, no one at all. Something moved in the shadows, revealing… a Girl. 

Zoe screamed. A normal dressed school girl stood at the doorway. The girl stood there, smiling. Then she waved at something, a space just beside Alexis. 

Alexis and Zoe had no idea who or what she was looking at. They took a little peek behind them but no one was there, when they looked back again at the girl she was gone. But then she entered the room, The the girl took off her mask. But something was wrong… SHE HAD NO FACE! It,It, IT WAS A BLACK HOLE. But something was inside it, it..it was a key! But then... Alexis tripped over and fell into the black hole! It led her to an island, she was there for a whole week, but then she sadly passed away, Her parents were sad, they thought their little girl would be safe at home, but they were wrong.

Zoe’s parents died in a fire a day later the incident happened, so Zoe became Alexis’s parents adopted kid. And the incident still haunts them till this very day...

What do you think was out there?” Zoe asked. “I don’t know. . . “ replied Alexis. The girls turned the TV off and slept peacefully. “Knock Knock went the window, the two woke up and again bundled in a corner lucky for them nothing else happened that night.

The two were home alone ,For their parents were off to work, as I said they were home alone. . . or were they? They were eating their smores and drinking their hot cocoa until they heard the footsteps again. Before they knew it they were hiding behind the couch. The door slowly creaked open, and out came a dreadful and scary woman. Her eyes were blood red, her skin was grey and cracked, and her hair was as black as it can be. She walked along like a zombie with her white dress dragging along behind her. “What is that?!” Zoe asked freaking out “I-I-I don’t know!” replied Alexis shaking. She walked away, it was silent “Is it safe to go out?” asked Alexis. Suddenly there was tapping noises on the window. “Tap Tap Tap” went to the window, the girls didn’t know what to do, they slowly opened the curtain. Just as they were about to see who it was there was the sound of keys opening the locked door.

1.30 pm Saturday 

It was a dark and stormy night when Zoe and Alexis were having a sleepover. They were still awake late at night watching television ,When the thunder crackled and the rain thumped louder on the roof, The two snuggled up in a corner and watched the television. Suddenly they could hear footsteps outside the bedroom  door, They knew it wasn't their parents, their parents were in Auckland doing work stuff. 

The two rushed over and locked the door before anyone could get in. The handle twisted and turned for a few seconds then the footsteps thumped away from the door. “Should we open the door?” Zoe asked. “Umm, don’t you think it might get us?” Alexis said as a chill ran up her spine at the thought of it. She Slowly they turned the handle and opened the door to make a tiny crack that they can both see through. No one was there, the hallway was empty. They closed the door again before anything else happens.

Tumu's awesome museum trip!!!

Welcome back to A's awesome blog

On  Monday the 16th of September we went on a trip to the museum in the city, It was only Tumu that went. We all split up in groups, in my group was Zoe.n, Ethan, Lucas.c, Jimi, Archie.f, Jack, Charlie and Gabrielle. Each group had their own parent, teacher or helper!!! 

My group looked at the Birds first, The other places we went in was the Asian arts, The antarctic place, The dinosaur place, The olden days hall, The gemstone and rooks room, The Maori room, The living Canterbury and the best part...  The room where you can touch EVERYTHING. 

There was a staff that showed us a room with things the Maori people used at least 500 years ago. 
The things that we got to use was a drill that looked like this...  What you do is you put a piece of wood under it and then you have to keep pulling the string like a Yo-Yo, Not up and down but side to side.

A Fire starter... You have to rub that little stick inside the big stick to start the fire

Cave drawings... We only used crayons

Sandstone to Make a rock Flat, You put water on the sandstone...

Winter sports is over

Hey again this is A's awesome blog, Today we are talking about Winter Sports.Welcome to A's Awesome blog

For winter sports we got to choose what sports we are going to play. We got to choose from: Soccer, Hockey, Netball or rugby. I chose soccer because I think soccer is really fun, and I like how it really gets you moving, I think I have become way more fit then before I played winter sports. When playing soccer I feel like i'm in my comfort zone. 

In soccer we usually play 7 on the field and two on subs, A sub is a person on the sideline until they get told to go back on the field. In soccer Everyone has a thing to do, Here are all the positions:
Striker, Mid field, Left wing, Right wing, Left defender, Right defender and Goalie. 
My favorite positions are Goalie, Mid field and Striker, Soccer makes me really happy.

We Chose this because we want some knowledge about it.

What is Innovation?
Innovation is something you create, It could be good or bad for us humans.
Here is an example: A phone, going from a rotary dial to the new iPhone XR and XS.
Do you see what I mean? Innovation is Making something new and different of the old version.


Our learning!
We have been to different classes and made... Boats, cars and planes with an exact amount of materials and supplies. I Made a plane out of play dough, Tape, Straws and paper.

What is Conservation?

Hello and welcome back to A's Awesome Blog, In this blog I will be talking about what I read for Literacy.

My literacy group ( Group B ) Have been reading about Conservation.
Here are some things that really stood out to me and my new learning.

Conservation
 What is conservation? Conservation is the protection of things found in nature. It requires the sensible use of all Earth’s natural resources like water, soil, minerals, wildlife, and forests. People who care about conservation try to preserve natural resources so they will still be alive in the future. They also try to keep the environment clean and healthy.

Many types of animals and plants are threatened by human actions, Some are, Deforestation, Hunting, Pollution and Climate change. You dont even realize that everyday things are actually killing animals!
When people are killing animals, we have less to eat. If we stop killing animals we will have more food. We have to act now to protect them and make sure they dont disappear forever.

PBL - Term 1

Welcome back to A's awesome blog!

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about kindness and the big question was: How can we build community through our actions?

First, we explored some collaborative activities and discussed how we could include kindness and build a sense of community through our actions at camp. Next, we were organised into groups where we had to unpack the above question. In our groups we considered how we could spread community and kindness through our entire school community. We decided that we would offer something that was free and would make others happy.

We created an action plan and we had to decide what we would Do for our PBL.

Reflection: 

For our final product our group decided to give out kindness cards at the gate.

How did our action build a sense of community in the school?

It built community because we got to know everyone and we said hi and the parents said thank you and have a good morning.

I contributed by thinking of kindness quotes,Cutting them and by giving them out.

I think the PBL might impact on others by just being happy and by doing the right thing.

What I learned about working with others was that sometimes you need a little help and it just feels good.
